Introduction to the Crafting for Hope Charity Project

Crafting for Hope is a heartfelt charity project founded on the belief that small handmade creations can make a significant impact. In our fast-paced world, finding moments of calm and connection is essential, especially for those facing the challenges of cancer. This initiative aims to empower and uplift women as they navigate their recovery journeys after daunting diagnoses, intensive treatments, and significant changes.

We create a nurturing environment where participants can unwind, relieve stress, and share stories while crafting beautiful items. By focusing on creativity, we foster resilience, community, and hope. As participants engage in craft projects, they are encouraged to be fully present, embracing the moment and life itself. Remember, *be a warrior, not a worrier.*

Participants will have the opportunity to explore various crafts, including knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting, textile art, and more. Each project allows for creativity and self-expression while fostering a supportive community.

About Us:
I am Evgeniia Menassa, a single mother of two, a breast cancer fighter, fashion designer, founder of Elissandro sewing and fashion school, and handcraft teacher at a Waldorf school. I believe in the transformative power of creativity and community. With the support of wonderful people, I face my cancer journey with a smile and a lot of encouragement. I hope to spread this positivity to others. I aim to provide a therapeutic outlet through crafts, where each project fosters accomplishment and diverts attention from fears and pain to hope and mindfulness. I also strive to raise awareness about breast cancer, reminding everyone that early detection can save lives.

I am happy to introduce Yulia Shautsukova, a professional artist and art teacher who has lived in Hong Kong for 15 years. Yulia has kindly offered her art classes as part of our program, bringing her extensive experience running watercolor painting workshops. She believes that watercolor painting offers a meditative escape, allowing individuals to momentarily immerse themselves in something joyful.

We are also thrilled to welcome Anastasia Akimenko, an artist and art teacher who has worked at some of the best schools in Hong Kong, including Harlow and PLK CKY. Specializing in oil and acrylic painting, drawing, and ceramics, Anastasia, a breast cancer survivor herself, understands the healing power of art. She believes that creating art allows individuals to express emotions and release tension, serving as a form of meditation that fosters self-connection. Anastasia is eager to support others during difficult times as we unite against cancer.

We also welcome more volunteers to join our project and help us make a difference.
